Additional Services for Your Convenience

Patient Services

COCHISE ONCOLOGY in Sierra Vista, Arizona provides assistance for each of our patients all throughout their treatment. Browse the rest of this page for details about each of our additional services.

Insurance Services

Most insurance policies are accepted at our cancer treatment center. We have an in-house insurance specialist, who will help you through the entire process. If you have any questions about our insurance services, contact us at 520-803-6644 or email us at [email protected]

As a new patient, you will need to complete a patient information packet and verify your insurance information. Please bring your insurance identification card(s) with you to every visit. A photocopy or scanned image will be placed in your billing file.

If you are covered by more than one insurance company, please let us know which company is the primary carrier. This will help avoid any delays in receiving benefits. If there is any change in your health coverage, please contact the office to update your records. We participate with most major insurance companies, and we will submit claims to your carrier on your behalf. Medicaid patients are welcome.

We also accept Medicare assignment. However, you will be responsible for the deductible and your 20% copayment for Medicare’s allowed charges for physician care, chemotherapy drugs, and laboratory tests, unless you have secondary insurance coverage.

If you belong to an HMO or PPO plan, please verify that our physicians are in the plan before your treatment begins. In addition, please inform our office if precertification is necessary with your plan.

Some insurance companies require you to use a specific laboratory or obtain referrals or preauthorization for office visits, hospital admissions, and treatments. It is your responsibility to obtain the initial referral and bring this with you on the first day of your first visit. If you need assistance with your insurance requirements, our staff will make every effort to help you.

Support Groups

COCHISE ONCOLOGY, in partnership with ACS, hosts a monthly support group. This is held at our comfortable and spacious meeting room every second Thursday of each month at 12:00 PM.

We are also a proud supporter of the Us TOO prostate cancer support group. They offer information and assistance to men undergoing treatment for prostate cancer and survivors. For more information about Us TOO, visit their website today! If you have questions about any of our other support related services, call us at (520) 803-6644 or send an email to [email protected]

Hospitality Houses

COCHISE ONCOLOGY offers two hospitality houses to patients who must travel a distance of more than 40 miles to receive their daily radiation treatments. In this way, we strive to make your cancer treatment experience as stress-free as possible.

Each patient must be evaluated based on their needs and circumstance. These lovely and modern homes are fully furnished to provide maximum comfort—the patient only needs to supply their own groceries. If necessary, we will help you find transportation from the hospitality house to our center.

Each home can accommodate up to three patients with one family member or friend. As we also recognize the importance of privacy, each patient has their own private suite, including private bathrooms. If you are coming alone, sharing the hospitality home with another patient can give you the opportunity to talk with someone who knows exactly what you are going through.

COCHISE ONCOLOGY offers these hospitality homes free of charge to help make your entire experience with us much easier. Ask us about how you can take advantage of this opportunity by contacting us via phone or email.

American Cancer Society

COCHISE ONCOLOGY is proud to be partnered with ACS. We provide space within our facility so that their volunteers can work with patients and provide them with services to meet their unique needs.

ACS has helped many patients nationwide receive assistance of all types. They have programs such as “Look Good … Feel Better,” providing patients with prosthetics, wigs, and more. They also offer transportation for patients in need. All of these services are offered at no charge to our patients.

COCHISE ONCOLOGY is pleased to sponsor and participate every year in the Relay For Life, which is an event by ACS. This serves not only to remember those who are no longer with us but also to celebrate cancer survivors who live every day having beaten their disease.

We embrace ACS into our community and strongly urge all of our patients to take advantage of their many amazing services while undergoing treatment with us.

In-House Lab

For the utmost convenience of our patients, COCHISE ONCOLOGY offers a treatment-specific lab. We perform a limited spectrum of tests and produce immediate results specifically for our oncologists.

Our lab is available to our patients from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM from Tuesday through Friday. For the time being, only the following insurance options cover our lab: TRICARE Prime + Standard, UnitedHealthcare, University Family Care, University Physicians, Humana, and Medicare.
