What are the Signs of Liver Disease?

Liver disease can encompass many different conditions associated with the liver. It is essential to know the signs of liver disease to prevent further damage to the liver because it helps clear out toxins from the body and manages nutrients.

The Liver

The second-largest organ in your body, the liver, has multiple functions. The liver absorbs nutrients and produces bile, which helps with the detoxification process after digestion. This vital organ is on the right side of your body, just below the ribcage.

What is Liver Disease?

Liver disease is a general term for the different diseases that can affect the liver and its functions. Some conditions that fall under the category of liver disease include several types of hepatitises, liver cancer, and fatty liver disease.

In the U.S., some liver diseases are becoming increasingly common due to obesity. One of the most common liver diseases is nonalcoholic fatty liver disease or NAFD.
