Insurance Services
We have an in-house insurance specialist who will help you through the entire process. Most insurances are accepted here. If you have any questions about our insurance services, please do not hesitate to contact us at 520-803-6644 or e mail us at kmorlock@cochiseoncology.com.
As a new patient you will need to complete a patient information packet and verify your insurance information. Please bring your insurance identification card(s) with you to every visit. A photocopy or scanned image will be placed in your billing file. If you are covered by more than one insurance company, please let us know which company is the primary carrier. This will help to avoid any delays in receiving benefits. If there is any change in your health coverage, please contact the office to update your records. We participate with most major insurance companies and will submit claims to your carrier on your behalf. Medicaid patients are welcome.
We also accept Medicare assignment --- however, you will be responsible for the deductible and your 20% co-payment for Medicare's allowed charges for physician care, chemotherapy drugs, and laboratory tests, unless you have secondary insurance coverage. If you belong to an HMO or PPO plan, please verify that our physicians are in the plan before your treatment begins. Also, please inform our office if pre-certification is necessary with your plan.
Some insurance companies require you to use a specific laboratory or to obtain referrals or pre-authorization for office visits, hospital admissions, and treatment. It is your responsibility to obtain the initial referral and bring this with you on the first day of your first visit. If you need assistance with your insurance requirements, our staff will make every effort to help you.
Hospitality Houses
Cochise Oncology offers two hospitality houses to patients that must travel to receive their treatments. These houses are provided free of charge as a courtesy. Each patient must be evaluated based on need and circumstance. At Cochise Oncology we strive to make your experience here as easy and convenient as possible. We understand the time and hassle that transportation to and from other communities can add when receiving treatment. We now offer two hospitality homes for the exclusive use of our out-of-town patients. These homes are fully furnished with everything from beds and televisions to kitchen and eating utensils.
Each home is capable of accommodating up to three patients with one family member or friend. We also recognize the importance of privacy. Each patient has separate bathrooms for your convenience. Coming alone? Sharing the hospitality home with another patient can give you the opportunity to talk with someone who is sharing your experience and who knows what you’re going through.
Cochise Oncology offers these hospitality homes free of charge to help make this experience easier for you. Ask us about how you can take advantage of this opportunity. For images of our hospitality houses, please visit our media gallery!
American Cancer Society
Cochise Oncology is proud to be partnered with the American Cancer Society. We provide space within our facility so that American Cancer Society volunteers can work with patients, providing services that assist with a varying array of needs. The American Cancer Society has helped many patients, not only nation-wide, but in and around Cochise County receive assistance of all types. The American Cancer Society works with patients undergoing chemotherapy with their "Look Good Feel Good" program that gives the patients access to prosthetics, wigs and more. These services are offered at no charge to our patients.
Cochise Oncology is pleased to sponsor and participate every year in the Relay For Life which is put on by the American Cancer Society. This even serves not only to remember those who are no longer with us, but to celebrate those survivors who live every day having beaten this disease.
We welcome the American Cancer Society into our community, and strongly urge all of our patients to take advantage of their services while undergoing treatment with us.
Support Groups
Cochise Oncology hosts varying support group meetings within our facility in our comfortable and spacious meeting room. These support groups range from Breast Cancer support groups to Prostate Cancer Support groups and more! Also, Cochise Oncology is a proud supporter of the USTOO Prostate Cancer Support group which offers information and assistance to men undergoing treatment for prostate cancer, and survivors. We perform a wide spectrum of tests and produce immediate results for our oncologists. Our lab is available to our patients from 9:00 AM to 12:30 Monday through Friday.
